Essential Functions
  • Work with a safety-first mentality
  • Drive ASM process protocol with emphasis and regularly institute or update service solutions to the field
  • Work on assigned CIP projects, develop DOE’s and communicate openly both internally and externally.
  • Focus on refresh of IP for legacy products and influence new design IP.

  • Generate project scope documentation and prepares specific project reports against identified schedule.
  • Building stakeholder consensus to deliver approach
  • Collaboratively manages global stakeholders including end users, technicians, engineers, procurement, spares, manufacturing, subject matter experts as well as management in both business and / or operations to project specific details.
  • Applies project management principles to produce cooperative and collaborative efforts, deliver business strategic objectives and fill the end customer needs.
  • Consistently provide quality solutions to field and customer personnel and create new BKM’s.
  • Exercise good judgment within broadly defined practices and policies in selecting methods, techniques, tools and evaluation criteria for obtaining desired results
  • Be willing to travel domestically and internationally as required.

Education /Experience
  • BS or MS Degree in Mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering, Material Science or related degree required.
  • 5+ years of experience in the semiconductor field.
  • Equipment Engineering experience with design, and development of complex mechanical systems including comprehension of: reactors, vacuum systems and chambers, gas delivery systems, abatement systems, pneumatics, water cooling, and circuits required. Ability to implement, maintain, improve electrical instruments, equipment, facilities, components, products, systems and provide novel solutions for the semiconductor equipment industry. Comprehension of PLC's and functionality.
  • Should have a broad based background in analysis and debug of complex electrical and/or mechanical systems
  • Semiconductor capital equipment experience is preferred.
  • Understanding of materials: metals, plastics, surface coatings and surface finishes.
  • Deposition product knowledge a plus (CVD, ALD, EPI, PVD). Knowledge of ASM Emerald tool distinct plus.
  • Design applications Pro/ENGINEER, AutoCAD, and Hands on experience with FEA and CFD analysis preferred. Solid ability to read and understand P&IDs, Electrical, and Mechanical schematics and drawings.
  • Proficiency in ANSI Y14.5 geometric dimension and tolerance.

  • Process comprehension, be able to understand basics of creating process recipes focusing on the ALD process.
  • Understanding of chemistry interactions with different materials. Gas and liquid chemistry knowledge is a bonus
  • Experience with Equipment installs Organizing/Coordinating trades, SL1, SL2, commissioning and qualifications to specific standards.
  • SPC creation with JMP/Statistical analysis and ability to drive root cause solutions through data driven decisions

Job Description

This position is for a Device/Testing Engineer working on FRAM Cell/Array engineering. The engineer is responsible for leading research and development of next generation VFRAM to support Petabyte Technology Inc’s (PBT) growing business in storage and memory solutions. Primary responsibilities include silicon experimentation, cell and array characterization, data analysis, modelling of the device, array, circuits and system behavior to meet complete product requirements and system needs. The engineer is also responsible for developing innovative device solutions and memory operation algorithms to continue technology scaling. Successful candidate will collaborate with process integration engineers, circuit designers, product engineers to understand the critical issues and inter-dependencies and engineer solutions to address them.

Location: Shanghai, China

Qualifications

Education:Candidate should possess an MS degree with at least 4 years additional experience, or a PhD with at least 2 years additional experience, in Electrical Engineering or Physics, with an emphasis in Physics of Semiconductor Materials or Devices/Testing related areas.

Hands on experience with FRAM/FEFET in device and testing are strongly preferred!!

Bench testing experience is preferred but not required.

Device modeling is preferred but no required.

Minimum Requirements:
- 4+ years' experience in the area of Semiconductor and Device Physics, or device processing, electrical characterization, and device and circuit models.
- 4+ years' experience in technical problem solving.

Field Service Engineer

ALD/CVD Chemielaborant/in bei Fraunhofer IKTS in Dresden

Die Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft ist die führende Organisation für angewandte Forschung in Europa. Unter ihrem Dach arbeiten 72 Institute und Forschungseinrichtungen an Standorten in ganz Deutschland. Mehr als 25 000 Mitarbeiterinnen und Mitarbeiter erzielen das jährliche Forschungsvolumen von 2,3 Milliarden Euro. Davon fallen knapp 2 Milliarden Euro auf den Leistungsbereich Vertragsforschung. Rund 70 Prozent dieses Leistungsbereichs erwirtschaftet die Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft mit Aufträgen aus der Industrie und mit öffentlich finanzierten Forschungsprojekten. In der Arbeitsgruppe Dünnschicht-Technologien werden hauptsächlich chemische Gasphasenabscheidung (CVD) für verschiedene Anwendungsfelder eingesetzt bzw. entwickelt. Dabei kommen die Verfahren thermische CVD-Prozesse bei reduziertem oder Atmosphärendruck (LPCVD, APCVD), plasmagestütztes CVD (PACVD) und Atomlagenabscheidung (ALD) zum Einsatz. Werkstoffseitig stehen Hartstoffschichten, Schichten aus gerichteten Carbon Nanotubes (CNT) und nanoskalige Dielektrika auf der Basis von Hafnium-, Zirkon- und Titanoxiden sowie von Perowskiten im Mittelpunkt. Die Anwendungen reichen vom Verschleißschutz über die Aktorik, Sensorik, Batterie- und Energietechnik bis hin zur Mikroelektronik. Die Herstellung neuer Dünnschichtmaterialien erfordert auch die Modifizierung bekannter bzw. die Entwicklung neuer CVD-Technologien. Dies umfasst den Test neuer Precursorsysteme sowie die Durchführung detaillierter Parameterstudien. Unterstützt werden die Untersuchungen durch thermodynamische Berechnungen und durch eine umfassende Charakterisierung von Zusammensetzung, Struktur und Eigenschaften der Schichten.

ALD Development Engineer at Encapsulix S.A. in Provence area in the South-East of France

A full time position as a development engineer is available at Encapsulix SAS. (HTTP://www.encapsulix.com). Encapsulix is a fast growing supplier of ultra fast, large area ALD manufacturing and R&D equipment that serve the thin film barrier and encapsulation needs for the OLED lighting and display, photovoltaic, data storage, architectural glass, and generic large area electronic markets. Encapsulix headquarters and application laboratory are located in Provence, south of France.

Personal Specification

The candidate should at least have a Master Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Material Science, Physics or Chemistry ; A professional experience with development , utilization, and/or maintenance of vacuum equipment and or metrology.

The selected candidate will be responsible for development of certain hardware (system and subsystem level), control algorithms and deposition processes related to high speed Atomic Layer Deposition. Relevant technical skills include the design, sourcing and test of mechanical parts, a working knowledge of subsystems such as vacuum systems, thermal control systems and thin film characterization and related metrology. Experience in industrial R&D and product development is preferred.

Candidates should demonstrate enthusiasm and are expected to take ownership of their part of the project for on-time/in budget/ in spec delivery in a high pace/high tech manufacturing environment. They should demonstrate a solid technical background and the ability to rapidly acquire new technical skills. This position requires extensive interactions with customers, development partners and suppliers. Excellent written and oral communication skills and an ability to perform the work independently are essential.

They should also be willing to travel for extended periods of time in Europe, North America and East Asia. Full professional fluency in English is expected. Activities within the scope of certain government related collaborations may require a background check by third parties.

Location

The position will be based in the Provence area in the South-East of France. In recent years, the region has developed a vibrant high tech industry in the fields of microelectronics, aerospace, advanced optics and renewable energies.

Incom, Inc., headquartered in Charlton, Massachusetts (USA), is looking for the best and brightest ALD talent with both practical, hands on experience and appropriate technical understanding to operate and develop Atomic Layer Deposition (ALD) processes and to support commercialization of Incom Microchannel Plates (MCP) and related ALD coated products.


Reporting to the Director of R&D, the ALD Research Scientist will be responsible for the functionalization of MCPs, in collaboration with R&D team members. The ALD Research Scientist will be a key contributor toward business development and commercialization of Incom’s MCP product line.
Responsibilities:
·         Work as an integral member of the R&D team, with responsibility for all facets of ALD processing, working directly with Incom’s ALD R&D Scientist
·         ALD process qualification and optimization for functionalization of MCPs
·         Analyze ALD films using thin film characterization techniques
·         Troubleshoot ALD system, schedule and facilitate maintenance of system
·         Document ALD processes, disseminate results and create SOPs for Incom’s manufacturing personnel
·         Interface with prospective customers to understand their technical requirements and to ensure that prototype samples are specified and fabricated appropriately.
Qualifications
·         BA, BS, Masters (with 3-7 years of industry experience), or Ph.D. degree (with 0-5 years of experience) in Chemistry, Physics, Materials Science, or Chemical Engineering required.
·         Technical background and hands on, practical experience with ALD system operation, process optimization and troubleshooting is essential.
·         3-5 years of experience with thin film characterization (ellipsometry, electrical characterization, SEM, surface spectroscopies etc.) is required.
·         3-5 years of demonstrated productive track record in related research and/or development.
·         Experience working in a cleanroom work environment is preferred.
·         Occasional travel to Argonne National Lab to complete ALD processing of MCPs is required.
·         English fluency (speaking, comprehension, reading and writing) is required for effective performance in this position.
·         Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
